The Photos That Escaped

One of the biggest perks to being a photojournalist is that at the end of December, as you reflect over the closing year, you can visually go back to some of your most significant moments of that year.

I had to compile a year-in-review photo gallery for work, so I've spent the last week reviewing how I spent 2010. I could only choose 99 photos from the thousands I shot, so today I am posting a few of the photos that I loved that couldn't go into that gallery because of lacking space or a lacking cut line.

Christmas Joy and Tragedy

Two stories of Christmas gifts. One joyous, the other tragic.

These pilots were delivering gifts to poor communities as part of the annual Santa Flight:



The elderly couple in this car was taking gifts to their family in Vegas:
