Floppy Disks and Rubik's Cubes

Yesterday, I spent most of the morning looking for a particular cord for my camera, to no avail. But I found, instead, a few interesting items from my past.

Floppy disks. I'm pretty sure I have a dozen or more of these stowed away in another box somewhere.
I was a bit of a Rubik's Cube fan. I had a period when I ended up purchasing several poorly-made variations of the classic model, which I saved thinking I would repair them. Here they are, over a decade later, and I'm missing pieces.

A Year Later...

I've spent a year not posting photos here and figure that is probably long enough. A little over a month ago I left my position as a photojournalist and moved to the Bay Area and now I need an outlet for my photography. I haven't really done much with my "real" camera since arriving, so the photos I'm posting today are from my phone's camera - which means if they are subpar, it's obviously not my fault, right? Here's a sample of how I've spent the last month.

Crossing the beautiful Bay Bridge to San Francisco:

I love graveyards and, of course, had to visit Colma. Here, I was at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery:

Nothing like an urban playground. Portsmouth Square Plaza is on the edge of Chinatown in San Francisco:

My husband, who has a thing for triangle buildings and the green-patina look, is in love with the Sentinel Building, built in 1907 and located in North Beach near the end of Columbus Ave. in San Francisco:

This is Fishing Pier at Shorebird Park in Berkeley:

We spent the Fourth of July in Old Sacramento:
